Linda Marple, eldest daughter of a distinguished World War II career Air Force veteran and his wife, spent much time at her grandparents’ farm in Kansas while waiting for Dad to come home from Korea. After several transfers, a final move found the Marple family in Arlington, TX where Linda went to high school. She graduated magna cum laude with a biology degree from Bethany Nazarene College. She has been employed as a surgical technician, a Pharmacology research assistant at the OU College of Medicine, a microbiologist, and a college professor. It was during her tenure as professor that Linda fell in love with educating students. The next 25 years found her teaching public school grades 7-12 in TX, OK, and NM where she earned several awards and recognition for excellence in science teaching. She also sponsored many school clubs, including one nationally recognized for its environmental and animal rights activism (the EARS club). It was on an extracurricular field trip that Ms. Marple and her students ‘discovered’ the Community Farm – and upon retirement from the Santa Fe school system, Linda became the Farm’s most devoted volunteer and currently, Executive Director. - Ed Maglisceau, Treasurer
Ed Maglisceau grew up in the Buffalo, N.Y. area and worked on his family’s vegetable garden as a youngster. He retired to Santa Fe in 1995 and served as Volunteer Coordinator for the farm through Ghost Ranch. When he is not refereeing high school sports or providing tax advice, he and his wife, Anne, are world travelers with Elderhostel. - Sherry Hooper, Director of the Food Depot
